Mossel Bay is situated along the scenic Garden Route, halfway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth and only 45km from George airport.
The Portuguese explorer, Bartholomew Diaz, landed in Mossel Bay in 1488, whilst looking for a spice route to the East. Steeped in history, this town has many heritage sites and historical buildings, including the Diaz Museum complex which hosts a replica of the caravel on which Diaz arrived.
The area enjoys a temperate, almost Mediterranean climate, with about 300 days of sunshine per year. Santos beach, a popular and safe beach in Mossel Bay, achieved blue flag status in 2009
